Hello Ladies!!!
Spring is approaching! We all love to look our best with great glowing skin; am I right or am I right? So I figured I would share a few quick beauty recipes and tips with you all. Nothing complicated or expensive; you may even have a few of the materials right in your kitchen!
Turmeric is one of the most powerful healing herbs on Earth. In my culture we use it to cook with. It wasn't until recently that I found that it can also be used as a beauty enhancer. It's been used topically for years because of it heals chronic skin problems like rashes, burns, cuts, psoriasis and acne. Not only does it get rid of acne, it is great for lightening dark spots from acne scarring and leaves skin with a healthy glow. If your skin has a painful pimple on it , turmeric will certainly calm it down; spot treatments can also be done with turmeric.
Side Note: I sometimes use almond milk for my mask blend, because of its hydrating effect on the skin. You can add honey instead of the almond milk if you would like. I STRONGLY recommend you do this on a covered counter top or covered table because turmeric DOES STAIN surfaces. Also, throw on some clothing that you don't mind messing up just in case; as well as putting on gloves to protect your beautiful nails from staining too.
TURMERIC MASK RECIPE
You will need:
1 & 1/2 Tablespoon of turmeric powder and almond milk
Optional: honey
DIRECTIONS
1: Add almond milk & stir until the turmeric becomes a thick paste. I myself have never measured how much almond milk to actually use.
(*Option-you can add a natural oil if you tend to have dryer skin i.e Olive, Sweet Almond, Grape seed etc.)
2: Apply the mask evenly to clean skin (away from eyes) and leave on for 20 minutes.
Note: You will feel your skin tighten up when the mask is starting to dry.
3: Rinse off with warm water, pat dry and refrigerate any turmeric mask you may have left over (You can use it up to 3 days).

A detox bath will literally melt away your stresses! The purpose for the Detox Bath is to help speed up the detoxing process already going on in our bodies. Our Fat cells (yucky fat!) hold toxins; so as they are released, the toxins are released with it. Which is a great thing; but can take a toll on our energy and overall strength. Being released are chemicals, metals, food additives and even Rx drugs. Detox your skin and organs, neutralize PH balance, restore hormone balance with this easy recipe.
You'll Need:
1 C Epsom salts
1 C sea salt
1/2 C baking soda
Run a bath as hot as you can stand it and mix the ingredients above in it. Soak for 20-40 minutes. Bring a glass of water to drink while soaking. Drink a full glass of water when your finished soaking also. I love to add a little lavender or mint sprigs just for the scent! I also like to light a few candles.
WARNING!!!! You will be exhausted after your bath, so do this right before bed. You will sleep very well and wake up feeling wide eyed, energized, refreshed.
These next few tips are for My fitness chicks! I applaud your efforts and congratulations for any weight lost and beginning your journey! I have a gift for you!
Here are some tips to maintain clear skin during workouts:
-Drink Water! Lots of water!
-Healthy eating habits. Less toxins from food means less toxins in the body.
-Maintain a processed food free diet and increase your fruit and vegetable intake.
-Exercise with a clean face and this means NO makeup. A little chap-stick won't hurt but anything else leave off.
-Moist Wipes are great for eliminating the presence of sweat/dirt on your face and neck. Wipe your face and neck as soon you're done with your workout or in between sets.
-Keep hair away from your face and neck. Sometimes the mixture of hair products and sweat can irritate skin even more. A ponytail or bun will do the job.
